Crucifix Stone's Guide To Spyware and Viruses
(And how to be rid of them once and for all)

If you are one of my clients, and I have already installed these on your computer then click here.

First, you need to download and install the tools to remove spyware:

Ad-Aware
SpyBot

And, if you are not running an antivirus, or running Norton, McAfee or Symantec,
I suggest you download the free version of AVG. Norton and McAfee will
slow down your computer, cost money, and will not get everything clean.
AVG has been my choice for 4 years now, and I've never had a problem.

AVG Free

Before installing AVG, be sure to remove any antivirus software currently running by going to Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs, and removing Norton or McAfee.

Also, let me take this moment to say, if you have AOL Spyware and system tools installed, remove all of it. I've seen too many systems reduced to unusable states of errors and not booting to reccommend AOL Anything. I've seen it declare a system clean, and then I've found literally hundreds of pieces of spyware with Ad-Aware
and SpyBot. Remove it before you start anything else!

There are many pieces of spyware posing as spyware removal tools.

DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING BUT THE TOOLS I MENTION HERE.

Once these tools are all installed, we can proceed. Please click:
How to use these programs to get rid of spyware and viruses.
